Three Rams to participate in East West Bowl

OTTAWA, Ont. - Bruce Anderson, Nick Hutchins, and Jordan Sisco will all represent the University of Regina Rams at the 7th Annual East West Bowl, scheduled for May 9 at TD Waterhouse Stadium at the University of Western Ontario.

All three Rams will play for the West team at the event, which will be hosted by Western Ontario for the first time.

"It's a great opportunity for all three of these guys," Rams head coach Frank McCrystal said. "They all had great seasons for us and it'll be neat to see them in action in this game."

Anderson, a third-year linebacker, completed his first season with the Rams in 2008 after playing for two years at Butte College. He started all eight regular season games at middle linebacker, finishing second in the conference with 46 tackles and tying for the team lead in sacks. Anderson also tied for the team lead with three sacks, led the Rams with three fumble recoveries, and had two interceptions.

Hutchins, who checks in at 6'2" and 315 lbs., was named a Canada West all-star last season after starting all nine games for the Rams at right guard. He was a key part of the offensive line that helped quarterback Teale Orban lead the conference in both passing yards and touchdown passes. Hutchins will enter his final season of CIS eligibility next year.

Sisco, a third-year wide receiver, missed the first two games of the 2008 season but still caught 25 passes for 343 yards and tied for the team lead with three touchdown catches. Like Hutchins, Sisco was named a conference all-star. His top game came at UBC on Sept. 19, when he hauled in seven balls for 98 yards in the team's 18-16 win.

The East West Bowl showcases CIS players who will eligible for the 2010 Canadian Football League draft. Ticket information and full rosters are available at www.eastwestbowl.ca.
